In The Shadows

This mini play is created, told by and explores stories of women from culturally diverse perspectives, examining what women do/have done in the shadows especially during times of war when the men are gone.

In the shadows, she drags a bag of rice across the floor; she kisses him through tears off to war; she fills the boots left empty by the boys; forging steel and purpose, through the noise. In the boots she walks into the night. Out of shadows right into the light. Through storytelling and shadow play, the building becomes a canvas, the street a stage, exploring the historical moment women took the reigns of industry.
